FESTIVALS
Candace has been a collaborator on two independent festivals. In 2017 she was part of the executive team for Off-The-Cuff Cabaret with two other strong females, Kelsi Kalmer and Julie Murphy. The three females divided all tasks, from budget to marketing and everything in between. They helped reinvent the festival, which had suffered some hits after rebranding, and came back with a two night cabaret which was even better and stronger than before. The two nights consisted of various cabaret acts, ranging from singing to dancing, to juggling while consuming hot peppers and reciting a monologue from Waiting for Godot. Both nights sold out, with audiences staying for almost 3 hours each night to indulge in the wacky art taking place.
Now, in 2019, Candace looks forward to collaborating with a larger team of artists to help conceptualize and produce VILDSKUD 2019. VILDSKUD is a festival located in Copenhagen, which aims to celebrate independent theatre. The festival supports the independent theater environment by creating space for the performing stage artists' development and by helping to keep the environment flexible, inclusive and alive. Last year the festival curated 19 shows.
