A Flea In Her Ear

A Flea In Her Ear

This production of "A Flea In Her Ear" features the David Ives adaptation of the script.

As part of their culminating project for their Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Alberta, the class of 2023 embarked on an ambitious endeavor: the production and performance of Georges Feydeau’s renowned farce, "A Flea In Her Ear." Set in Paris at the turn of the 20th century, the play revolves around a series of mistaken identities, hilarious misunderstandings, and absurd situations.

For our class, this production presented a multifaceted learning opportunity. Not only did we have the chance to delve into the intricacies of physical comedy, mastering the art of exaggerated gestures, pratfalls, and comedic timing, but we also gained valuable experience in producing. From casting and rehearsal scheduling to set design and prop coordination, the students were involved in every aspect of bringing the production to life.

All I know is, I don’t know nothing. He comes here to warn a woman to clear off because her husband’s after her, and when they get face to face he finds out he’s the husband and she’s the wife. How’s that for a riddle?
